[Labor] Hanoi City temporarily changes the processing agency for work permit application procedures.

On June 5, 2024, the Hanoi Department of Labor, Sick and Sick Soldiers’ Social Affairs issued Decision No. 406/QD-SLDTBXH, guiding the district People’s Committee to temporarily delegate authority over the work permit procedures for foreigners.

Accordingly, from June 1 to December 31, 2024, the following three administrative procedures will be carried out by the People’s Committee
1. application procedure for work permit exemption for “foreigners married to Vietnamese nationals and staying in the territory of Vietnam
2. reissuing work permits to foreign workers working in Hanoi City
3. extension of work permit for foreign workers working in Hanoi.

We have confirmed with the Department of Labor that the above procedures will continue to be applied for through the online website https://dichvucong.hanoi.gov.vn/congdan/ and the results will be received directly at the Labor Department of the District People’s Committee. There are no changes to the procedures for posting advertisements for recruitment of Vietnamese workers and approval for use of foreign workers.

The above is a reminder for companies applying for work permits in Hanoi. As requirements may differ from region to region, it is recommended to check with the local labor authorities for details.
