[Labor]2024 Lunar Tet Holiday Schedule Proposal

On October 27, 2023, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs submitted the draft schedule for the 2024 Lunar Tet Holiday to the government. Civil servants and government officials are expected to take seven days off from February 8, 2024 to February 14, 2024 (*). (In addition to the 5 days of public holidays stipulated by the Labor Law, this includes 2 days of substitute holidays for weekly holidays)
The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs encourages other workers to apply the proposed schedule for civil servants and officials. Once the Tet holiday schedule is decided, employers are required to notify workers at least 30 days in advance of the Tet holiday.

Please note that the above schedule is currently awaiting approval from the Prime Minister of Vietnam and is not final information. We will update Law News as soon as the official Tet holiday schedule is announced.

(*) Applies to the period from December 29, 2023 to January 5, 2024 according to the lunar calendar.
