[Labor] 2024 Tet vacation schedule

The government issued document No. 8662/VPCP-KGVX dated November 3, 2023, agreeing to the proposed Tet holiday schedule submitted by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (Ministry of Labor).
Accordingly, the 2024 Tet holiday for civil servants will be from February 8, 2024 to February 14, 2024. The Ministry of Labor will issue an official notification regarding this matter in the future.

Every year, the Ministry of Labor issues a notice urging non-civil servants to apply the same Tet holiday schedule as civil servants. However, this is only an encouragement, not an obligation. As long as the statutory number of vacation days is guaranteed, employers can create their own Tet vacation schedules according to their respective operations and production conditions. However, employers must notify workers of the 2024 Tet vacation schedule at least 30 days in advance.

Additionally, if a weekly holiday coincides with a public holiday, employers must provide a compensatory day off on the next business day for workers based on Article 111, Paragraph 3 of the Labor Law.
